National Scrapbook Day was defiantly one for the books. The day just seemed to perfect. Hopefully I can try and top it next year. I just don’t know how I am going to top the gift from this year though.
Well, here are some of the pictures from the day. If you didn’t come let me explain the blindfolded pictures. We did a race were you had to make a page blind folded for the Scrapraiser. It was defiantly interesting. We also had a progressive page contest. I started with three papers and two groups or scrappers. I gave each group different types of papers and they each had to do something to the two page layout and pass it to the next person. We did this two times; once we judged it and the other was timed. It was fun seeing what each person had to add. In the end the pages will be donated to the Lacreca and her family. I can’t wait till next year.
Most of you know that I am real big on double saving you digital photos on some external source other than you’re computer, such as external hard drives, CD’s, DVD, etc.
Even hard drives and CD’s can get lost or stop working so now I have added another place to back up photos, especially since they are priceless to me. I highly recommend backing your photos online as another from of backup along with an external source such as a external hard drive. There are lots of FREE online places with unlimited storage. Kodak is pretty good because you can choose to share your photos with others but you do have to purchase something as least once a year.
I have being doing a little research and found a site called MOZY.com You do have to pay but it is so worth it especially if you have as many photos as I have. The nice thing is I an access my photos from anywhere with out having to drag my computer or hard drive around with me. I found a link to get 20% off mozy. I did the two year deal and it came out to be about $85 which is still better than losing all my photos. MOZY discount
Here is an update on some of the information on the family that we are doing pages for. These are answers to some of the questions people have been asking. As soon as I get more I will post it. We have had such a great response to this that I will extend the deadline to the end of May so that everyone will have time to finish layouts and get them to me. Thanks to everyone that is working on them outside of San Angelo and mailing them in. As I get some of the layouts, if it is ok with the person that did them, I will post some of them here on the blog.

I have a story that I hope touches you as much as it touched me. Jeannie Slate’s friend’s sister, is a mother of two and only in her late 30’s. Back in January she found out that she had cancer with only a few months to live. Her one concern was that she didn’t have her scrapbooks done. The cancer has spread everywhere and there is nothing more the doctors can do. If we all participate, even just a little, we can help her with her wish.
In my efforts to help I have taken all of our clearance papers and some of my papers from my personal collection and put them in a donation box. I will donate the paper if you will donate your time. You can stop by the store and look through the box to see if there are any papers you can use to make 12×12 layouts. Please only take papers you know you will use to make layouts for this family. When you have finished you can drop them off any time during store hours by Saturday May 16th. With National Scrapbook Day upon us, you could plan to set a little time aside to work on a page or two. If everyone does this I know we can make a big difference for this family.
Here is some information on this family. The mother’s name is Laquisha. I am not sure if this is spelled right but I will have more details for everyone including the spelling on Saturday. She has two girls Sage, age 7 and Calli age 12. There school colors are maroon, tan, and black. The girls love tennis and horses. She could use some basic school pages, some holiday pages, family and some sister. Any pages will definitely help.
Drop off by Saturday May 16th.

Some of the lines include some themes as most of you have requested. I normally don’t carry theme so expect to see these lines sell out fast. I have school, graduation, tropical, frogs, and more. I had a great time at the Anniversary crop. I want to thank everyone that came and supported us at the crop. Thank you to all the customers that have been there for the last two years. I know everyone had a great time. I think the food was the best we have ever done, or that is what I was told by so many people. We did an auction for the first time and it was so fun! I have always wanted to be an auctioneer and decided that all though I have the talent to talk a lot I probably shouldn’t quite my day jobs!
